Marietta VFW in Home Depot Contest

The Marietta post is among the organizations vying for $25,000 in direct assistance for veterans.

Marietta VFW Post 2681 needs help to win $25,000 from  to aid the veterans it serves.

Voting began last week and continues through Nov. 30. The nonprofit with the most votes will win $25,000, and be in the running for the grand prize of $250,000 at the end of the yearlong program. If a runner-up, the post can win a $5,000 Home Depot gift card.

Post 2681, located on Powers Ferry Road, plans to use the money for building renovations and to operate a thrift store so members can access affordable items, according to Dan Gardner, commander of Post 2681.

To help the veterans win, visit The Home Depot Foundation’s Facebook page and vote for the Marietta VFW.

The final vote percentages for each nonprofit will be posted 9 a.m. Dec. 1 on The Home Depot and The Home Depot Foundation’s Facebook pages.
