Marietta Volunteers, Kids Plant Love at Johnny Walker Homes

Keep Marietta Beautiful shows the youth at the Lawrence Street Recreation Center how to plant roots in their community, literally and figuratively.

Staff and volunteers from both the Lawrence Street Recreation Center and Keep Marietta Beautiful joined forces with neighborhood kids on Wednesday to plant gardens at Johnny Walker Homes. As part of Global Youth Service Day, everyone worked together to bring healthy vegetables into the community. They will meet again for a planting at Ashton Place Apartments on Saturday.

Keep Marietta Beautiful will sponsor a Paper Shredding Day from 9 a.m. to noon on April 30 at 591 North Marietta Parkway.
