The Marietta Greek Festival, the Cobb Animal Control Adopt-A-Thon, a gardening workshop, a film at the Strand, a jewelry workshop, a book signing with the navigator and last surviving crew member of the Enola Gay flight and more! Don't miss the fun.

1. Major Theodore "Dutch" Van Kirk, navigator and last surviving crew member of the Enola Gay flight that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, will be signing books from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19 and May 20 at the . 

2. On Sunday at 3 p.m., the  presents The Eagle. Starring Rudolph Valentino the film was released in 1925. The film tells the story of Lt. Valdimir Dubrowsky (Valentino) who flees the Russian Guard after a failed attempt of seduction by the reigning Russian Czar, Louise Dresser.

He then learns that his family’s estate has been stolen from them by an evil nobleman and his father murdered. Valentino then takes on the disguise of The Eagle—a hero to the common people who steals from the rich and gives to the poor.

3. Working last weekend? Never get enough of that special mother-daughter time? The Mother-Daughter Jewelry Workshop and Tea is Saturday, May 19 at 10 a.m. at the .

4. Stop by  for a Electronics Recycling/Shoe Collection on Saturday, May 19 at 9 a.m. All electronic devices and computer components accepted (no appliances) as well as shoes of all kinds. 

5. The Green Thumb Gardening Series #7: Shade and Sun Perennials is Saturday, May 19 at 8:30 a.m. at the . 

  • Registration: 8:30 a.m.
  • Presentations: 9-11 a.m.

  • Private tour of local garden or nursery, some will have plants for sale

Come out for the Blue Skies Music Festival at the  Friday, May 18, at  7 p.m. Join the Cobb Chamber’s Leadership Cobb Class of 2012 as they host a musical event and fundraiser for Blue Skies Ministries.
