Musicals, Ghosts, Food and 'Gone with the Wind' Make for Great Marietta Weekend

It's Thursday, the weekend is around the corner, and you have no idea what to do. At Marietta Patch, we have compiled the best bets for a great weekend.

Essential Marietta happenings for the weekend:

1. The hit Broadway musical "Leader of the Pack" arrives at the this weekend. This revue, produced by the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, celebrates the life of Ellie Greenwich and details her path to fame and fortune with her songs including the title song, "Chapel of Love," "Da Do Ron Ron," "Be My Baby," "Hanky Panky," Do Wah Diddy," "And Then He Kissed Me" and "River Deep, Mountain High."

This musical plays at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday and continues through March 6. Tickets range from $27.50 to $48.70 and are available at atlantalyrictheatre.com.

2. Investigate the Kennesaw House with SyFy's Ghost Hunters International.  Brandy Green and Ashley Godwin of Ghost Hunters International, along with guest investigators Bob Hunnicutt and Joey Ward, take a special tour of the Kennesaw House ... and you're invited.

For the $75 ticket price, you get to join a meet and greet and question-and-answer session with the cast and then a full investigation of this haunted building. The doors will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and the event will run until about 2 a.m. Sunday.

3. Gone with the Wind biography gets debut at GWTW museum. Author Susan Lindsley unveils her latest work, Susan Myrick of Gone With the Wind, An Autobiographical Biography at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the museum. Lindsley's soon-to-be-released book features her famous Aunt Sue, who served as dialect coach for the movie, and is based on Miss Myrick's own letters recounting her early days on the set of Gone With the Wind.

4. The Art Place hosts Center Stage North Theater's production of "The Fantasticks." The musical tells the story of two fathers who stage a feud to entice their children to fall in love with each other to the great delight of the audience.

The play starts at 8 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $12.
