One Man's Junk Is Another Man's Treasure

The Georgia Street Rod Association hosted its annual swap meet Saturday at Jim R. Miller Park.

Folks from all over Georgia dropped in to sell and to buy at on Saturday for it was THE place to be for interesting pieces and parts of vintage automobiles and nostalgia.

Georgia Street Rod Association has been united since 1976 and is one of the oldest  in the United States. Meeting are held once a month and include stocks, rods, trucks, motorcycles and customs (but with a 1948 cut-off date). For a $20 annual fee, members enjoy monthly meetings often hosted by automotive professionals, shop tours, event trips, an annual picnic, the swap meet and free classified ads in "Street Talk," the group's bi-monthly newsletter.

The next event is the GSRA Membership Picnic to be held in Flovilla. In October, the group gathers at Cumberland Mall for its annual Fall Leaf Tour ride along a scenic route through Georgia.
