More Than 75 Companies to Come to Marietta Career Fair

More than 75 companies, organizations and colleges have signed up for the Chattahoochee Technical College's Fall College and Career Fair.

The Chattahoochee Technical College Office of Career Services' Fall College and Career Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13 at the Marietta Campus. More than 75 companies, organizations and colleges have already signed up for the event.  

A premier event for Chattahoochee Technical College students, alumni and the community, the College and Career Fair will be held at the Marietta Campus in the atrium and surrounding areas from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Career Services Coordinator Lucylle Shelton said the fair typically attracts local and regional employers looking for full-time, part-time, seasonal and temporary workers, as well as interns. It also brings together graduating students with local colleges and universities for information on educational opportunities.

“Through this event, employers are given the ability to conveniently interact directly with students and alumni ready to learn about career opportunities," Shelton said. "The event allows employers to more effectively identify candidates with the right mix of qualifications for a multitude of job openings ­ whether those openings are available now or in the near future."

All job seekers are encouraged to bring updated resumes and all information necessary to complete job applications on site. According to Shelton, this should be thought of like a first interview and candidates should come dressed in business attire. Participants should also consider preparing a 30-second personal pitch to present to recruiters also demonstrates a student’s ability to sell themselves as employees.

“You want to tell employers what you’re bringing to the table,” Shelton said. “Tell them a little bit about yourself, your employment aspirations and your educational/professional background. You want to pique their interest and let them know you want the job.”

Career Services representatives are available on each campus at Chattahoochee Technical College for guidance with resume writing, interviewing skills and more.

Some of the employers expected to participate in the expo include: AAMCO Total Car Care-Canton, Advanced Automation, American Pool Service of Georgia, AMLI Residential, APTO Solutions, Blue Star Staffing, Caraustar Industries, CNN/Turner Broadcasting System, Communications Consulting Group, Compass Technology Services, CW69, Fastenal Company, Georgia Department of Public Safety, Gibbs Landscape, Gwinnett County Police Department, Hire Dynamics, Huntington Ingalls Industries, Kauffman Tire Company, Lighting Technologies, MARTA, Milton Police Department, Modern Woodmen of America, Nautix Lifeguards and Maintenance, Neocom Solutions, Pep Boys, Radio Disney AM590, Six Flags Atlanta Properties, Symbioun Technologies, TEAM-An Auto Nation Company, U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps.

Several local colleges and universities will be on hand to speak with students about furthering their education at 4-year institutions. Students can ask important questions first hand with college representatives and get a better sense of their future direction.
