Oysters in the ATL, Liz Melendez Provide Ways to Unwind

No pitter patter of other humans in the house this weekend? Grab your partner and head out for some yummy, musical fun!

You need "me" time this weekend, and Marietta Patch is here to help you get it.

Consider Steamhouse Lounge's 24th Annual Oysterfest, which will be held Saturday and Sunday in Midtown Atlanta. Enjoy two days of roasted oysters, lobster bisque, cold beer, great drinks, live music and more! A two-day pass costs $20, while a Sunday-only pass costs $10. Buy tickets online at www.ticketalternative.com.

Closer to Marietta, consider watching Ernie at The Local @ Sidelines Marietta, 1440 Roswell Road. He was the man who kept the blues alive locally at Darwins, until the doors shut down there. He is back at this non-smoking venue.  Sidelines also has great food and pool tables, so the two venues are a practical amusement park for adults!

Also at The Local at 9 p.m. on Saturday, The Liz Melendez Band will be rocking. If you have never heard this lady play a guitar, you are in for a musical treat.

Finally, if any Great Escape involves alcohol, remember that Safe Ride is one way to get home safely and legally.
