Senior citizens April events include blood pressure screenings, classic car talk, health discussions, ice cream and a movie, a play and more.

April is full of activities limited to adults age 55 and above. Events include films, blood pressure screenings, classic car talk, a Shakespeare play, a history discussion and more.

Severe Weather is Coming: Are You Prepared?

March 1 is the beginning of severe weather season. June 1 begins hurricane season. Gail Slomovitz from the Metro Atlanta Red Cross will teach you how to keep yourself and loved ones safe during this unpredictable weather season.   Discussion will include how to set up a shelter in your home and what supplies you will need. Other topics will include what to do if you are caught outside during dangerous weather.

Ice Cream and a Movie, Dolphin Tale

Here is the inspirational tale of a lonely boy who finds a hurt dolphin that is caught in a crab trap. He becomes very attached to the dolphin when its tail must be taken off to save its life. The boy believes the dolphin would be able to swim normally if it was given a prosthetic tale.

Biography—Life Stories through Time: The Bronte Sisters

Their names are synonymous with some of English literature’s most timeless and celebrated novels. However, the real-life story of the famous Bronte sisters is steeped in even greater controversy and heartbreak than the lives of their tragic characters. Come learn about Charlotte, Emily and Anne Bronte, their novels written under male pseudonyms, and how they didn’t live to reap the financial rewards or public acclaim for their distinguished works.

Shakespeare’s Tavern/Much Ado About Nothing

Love, laughter and Shakespeare, what a lovely way to spend an evening. Much Ado about Nothing is Shakespeare’s second-famous “battle of the sexes” play.
