Six Flags Opens This Weekend; Can't Make It? Go Climb a Tree

1. Six Flags Over Georgia
Everyone's favorite theme park opens for the 2011 season on Saturday. Opening day hours run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The park is also open from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Six Flags Over Georgia kicks off the season with a special discounted admission price of only $20.11. In addition, Six Flags Friends and are teaming up to collect non-perishable food items for families in the metro-Atlanta area. Bring any 6 (or more) items from this Web site to receive a coupon to purchase this special one-day admission ticket. Offer only valid for Saturday and Sunday.

2.Lorrie Morgan in Concert
Lorrie Morgan has charted more than 25 country music singles on Billboard in a career that started with an appearance at the Grand Ole Opry at age 13 with her grandfather George Morgan. Morgan performs at the at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $30 plus fees.

3.Beauty and the Beast Ballet and Repertoire
The British Academy of Performing Arts presents its version of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" tale as a ballet and repertoire at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday at The Joe Mack Wilson Theatre on the campus, 1100 S. Marietta Parkway.

4. "Ruins to Rapids" Full Moon Hike Sweetwater Creek State Park
Sweetwater Creek State Park offers this 1.5-mile ranger-led night hike from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday that includes the Civil War-era textile mill ruins of New Manchester and follows the rapids (up to class IV) of Sweetwater Creek. Bring a flashlight and sturdy shoes. No children under 6 or dogs. Hikers for this moderately difficult trail should meet inside the Visitor Center. Register in advance. 5. Tree for All
A tree-climbing guided tour for many ages. The introductory course is ideal for individuals or groups. Many of the climbers have organized birthday parties, scout groups, private schools, camps, and church youth programs. Tree climbing can provide a bonding experience for co-workersand families.
