Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry in Need of Donations

As the holidays approach, along with the accompanying cold weather and high gas or electric bills, the Southeast Co-op needs your help.

The Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry is working hard to prepare for the needs of families during this holiday season.

This year, they will feature the "Christmas Light Store," a small shop where pre-qualified parents can come in and choose gifts for their children.

"The idea is simple," said director Laura Drake. "We are giving these moms and dads the opportunity to drive to the store, purchase for their children, return home with their gifts, and give them to their children. It is critical for these gifts to come from the parents."

Along with presents, the ministry will provide holidays meals, including a ham or turkey. They are asking for new toys this year. Aldi has some great deals on children's gifts, as does Big Lots.

To donate online, visit their websiteThe co-op is located at 1200 Athens Highway, in Grayson. The best days to bring donations are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 10 and 12.

Help "Give Hunger the Boot" by donating to the Southeast Gwinnett CoOp. For a little added incentive, drop off a food item at O'Charley's in Snellville and receive a free appetizer. Another option is to purchase a gift card at Texas Roadhouse in Snellville-- 10% of every gift card purchase is donated to the CoOp. You can also drop off food items at Texas Roadhouse,

Anderson Livsey Elementary PTA ran a food drive to help GSE Co-op during the month of October as well as running an Angel Tree for the month of November. Anyone can come by the school and choose an ornament, purchase the item on the ornament, and bring it back to the school by November 26th. Help a family for the holidays.
