Welcome Center Joins History, Technology

The Marietta Welcome Center and Visitors Bureau offers a historic Marietta audio tour that visitors can download to their smart phones.

The Marietta Welcome Center and Visitors Bureau has developed a project that combines history and technology. Using a Quick Response, or QR, code, visitors can download the Historic Marietta Audio Tour to their smart phones.

The welcome center has been using QR codes for over a year on marketing materials for and the Marietta Pilgrimage Christmas Home Tour to direct people to their websites.

“We’ve been searching for years for a way to easily distribute our audio tour to visitors,” executive director Theresa Jenkins said in a press release. “This is so easy and accessible.”
