YMCAs, Cobb County Parks Start Walking Clubs

The YMCAs in Cobb County are partnering with the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department to start free walking clubs at local parks with soccer complexes.

The YMCAs in Cobb County are partnering with the Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department to start free walking clubs at local parks with soccer complexes.

The goal is to keep parents engaged while their kids attend soccer practice. These walking clubs are part of 2020 healthy living strategic plans for the Y and Cobb County.

The walking clubs will be held Monday through Friday, 6 to 9 p.m., and are open to everyone.

The clubs will focus on the time spent walking rather than distance or speed, so people of all fitness levels are encouraged to participate. 

The participating parks include Tramore Park, in Austell; Hubert Park, in Acworth off Cobb Parkway; and Custer Park in Marietta.
