Escape to Atlanta's Longest-Running Play

"Peachtree Battle" is so typically Southern and Atlanta that it makes for a good kids-free diversion.

For this weekend's need for some adult fun, a short drive to Atlanta can get you to Peachtree Battle, billed as the longest-running play in Atlanta theater history.

The play comes from off-Broadway award-winning playwrights John Gibson & Anthony Morris. Peachtree Battle comically tells the tale of wealthy Buckhead socialite Trudy Habersham, who plots to stop the marriage plans of her youngest son, Ansley, when he brings his fiancée home to meet the family, and she turns out to be a Hooters girl.

The next performance is 8 p.m. Saturday at the Ansley Park Playhouse. Tickets range from $26 to $35 and are available only for patrons 18 and up. Call 404-875-1193 for information.
