First Friday Art Walk

The 2011 First Friday Art Walk takes place in historic Marietta Square on the first Friday of each month from March to October. The Art Walk is a free, self guided tour showcasing local original art. Local artists are hosted by Marietta Square area restaurants, galleries, museums, venues and boutiques from 5pm to 9pm, rain or shine, and participating venues display an official Art Walk banner in their window.

You can choose your own route through the over thirty merchants hosting artists in their stores, and don’t forget to visit “Artists’ Alley” featuring a juried exhibit showcasing a variety of artistic styles. Also located in the Artists’ Alley area is the headquarters of the Art Walk, where you can pick up a map before you begin. Be sure to visit Artists’ Alley and register for your chance to win a “Hip to Be Square” $100 gift certificate redeemable at any participating merchant.

This year’s First Friday Art Walk will feature a new location for Artists’ Alley. Art Walk Artists’ Alley at DuPre’s Antique Market – this intimate exhibit of juried artists showing a wide variety of styles has moved indoors into a 3000 square foot, lite warehouse space at Dupre’s located at 17 Whitlock Ave.
