"The Sound of Music" presented by Atlanta Lyric Theatre

Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Atlanta’s only professional musical theatre company, presents the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic “The Sound of Music” Dec. 2 – 18 at The Strand Theatre in Marietta. “The Sound of Music” tells the story of Captain von Trapp, his seven musically gifted children, and their governess, Maria Rainer, as they use their love and faith to survive and escape the Nazi occupation of Austria. Leading the cast are Wendy Melkonian as Maria, Jeff McKerley as Captain von Trapp and Mary Welch Rogers as the Mother Abbess. The production is directed by Brandt Blocker and choreographed by Claci Miller.
