Get Out to Art, Pets, 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown'

See the musical "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" on Marietta Square; meet adoptable pets at a Petco event in East Cobb; go on a guided walk of the uncompleted section of the Silver Comet Trail; or head to Acworth for the annual Art Fest

  • What: Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Sally, Lucy, Schroeder and the rest of the Peanuts gang star in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, a classic musical comedy for audiences of all ages based on the timeless comics by Charles M. Schulz. The play brings to life some of the gang's most memorable situations from both the strip and television specials, with appearances from the Kite-Eating Tree, the Little Red-Haired Girl, Lucy's psychiatry booth, and Snoopy's battles with the Red Baron. And throughout it all, Charlie Brown tries to figure out how to be a "good man." Playwright-composer Clark Gesner's score features such great tunes as "Suppertime," "Happiness" and the title song.

  • Where: Petco, 1100 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta, GA
  • What: Stop by Petco to meet pets in need of loving homes. Whenever you adopt a pet you're eligible for the Think Adoption First Care and Savings Program. 

Connect the Beltline to the Silver Comet Trail: Guided Walk

  • When: Saturday, April 13, 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Where: Publix Super Market at Highland Station, 4480 S Cobb Dr SE, Smyrna, GA
  • What: The Silver Comet trail has been three miles short of completion. The three-mile section from the Mavell Road entry point to the PATH trail on the east side of the river at South Atlanta Road has not been finished, and if finished would connect a continuous path from the Beltline in Atlanta to Alabama. Come out to walk the unfinished portion of the Silver Comet Trail. 

Acworth Art Fest

  • When: April 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 14 from noon to 6 p.m.
  • Where: City of Acworth, Main Street, Acworth, GA
  • What: The historic Main Street in downtown Acworth is a delightful backdrop for 120 whimsical and talented artisans from around the country. Their creative booth displays will decorate the beautiful street with paintings, pottery, metalwork, folk art, glass, jewelry, yard art and more. The Kidz Zone will be filled with creative activities.
