Kids and Adults Chalk It Up
The inaugural juried sidewalk chalk art competition took place Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Cherokee St. The event was sponsored by the Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art.

Judging categories for the event include: kindergarten through second grade, third through fifth grade, sixth through eighth grade and high school.
There was also an adult category, which high school students were permitted to enter.

The children's categories were judged at 12:30 p.m. The adult competition was judged at 3:30 p.m.

The event was judged by Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art employee Emily Ryals and her husband Jason Ryals.
First place winners in the children categories received a $25 gift certificate to Dick Blick Art Materials and a Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art membership. The adult first place winner received a $50 gift certificate to Dick Blick and a museum membership.
