Marietta Is 'Windie City' for Weekend

A brunch and Scarlett O'Hara look-alike contest start the Gone with the Wind Museum's busy weekend of events of child stars from the movie, local collectors, patrons and lovers of everything related to Margaret Mitchell's classic novel.

Local celebrations surrounding the 75th anniversary of Margaret Mitchell's Gone with the Wind are in full swing this weekend with the is at the helm.

A 75th anniversary brunch to celebrate the novel was held in memory of local Gone with the Wind collector and fan Robert Warren. Georgia Public Broadcasting has been following the Windies around town and will broadcast a documentary about Margaret Mitchell at 8 p.m. June 30.

And Marietta Patch's own Kim Koch has been photographing many of the events.
