Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art's Yarn Bomb

The Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art's first community art installation, the Yarn Bomb, is on display now through mid-September, during MCMA's Metro Montage XIII and Folk Art Visionaries exhibitions.

The MCMA Yarn Bomb is made from donated knit and crotched materials, all sewn into large pieces that cover the front of the MCMA building and various spots around the building.

The first donations were received in December of 2012 and were collected until June 2013.  Pieces even traveled from students at Yantai University in Yantai, China.

Throughout June, the pieces were then sewn together by the Marietta and greater Atlanta communities. Over 250 people were involved with the project.

There is no cost for viewing the installation, since the Yarn Bomb is on display on the front of the museum.
