Marietta Square Theater Company Moves to Cobb Parkway

Out of Box Theatre, which has been operating out of The Alley Stage Theatre on Marietta Square, is moving to the Artisan Resource Center off Cobb Parkway.

"We loved working at The Alley Stage and are so grateful to Next Stage Theatre Company for allowing us to partner with them this last year. But we have grown and needed a space to call our own," Carolyn Choe, Artistic Director of Out of Box Theatre, said.

"There is a tremendous pool of talent in the Atlanta area that includes theatre, film photography, fine art and multi-media uses.  And at the Artisan Resource Center, we are surrounded by these artists."

The center is a 60-year-old blue warehouse that houses 28 studios with artists and craftsmen working in the fields from sculpture, painting and furniture making to film and special effects and now, theater.

"By working together, we are able to take advantage of the individual strengths to create a dynamic, one-of-a-kind experience that will continue to surprise and excite Out of Box Theatre's audiences for years to come," Choe said.

Out of Box has announced their new expanded season which includes new works by Atlanta area artists, the musicals Side by Side by Sondheim and Always...Patsy Cline, and Tony-winning plays like Art by Jasmine Reza.

The first show in the new space will be Bedroom Farce by Alan Ayckbourn. It runs July 12-28.
