Patriotic Music Fits Bill for Marietta This Week

Fourth of July and other patriotic events highlight music in Marietta this week.

With the metropolis of Atlanta to the south and numerous renowned musical venues peppered across the metro area, Marietta's music scene is often lost amid the din. But as any Marietta music lover knows, the local scene here remains vibrant and essential. Marietta Patch is here to help you navigate it.

1. The City of Marietta's Fourth of July Parade has so much going on that, yeah, music is involving. The parade starts at 10 a.m. Monday with more than 2,000 people and all kinds of floats, patriots, beauty queens and eccentrics marching through Marietta in celebration. Along the route, the Air National Guard Band of the South and others will be playing music in honor of 235 years of our Declaration of Independence.

At parade's end begins a festival with arts and crafts, delicious foods and a carnival, and then a 2 p.m. bell ringing in remembrance of our liberties. In regards to music, the Glover Park stage plays host to these acts for our listening pleasure:
