State Superintendent Seeking Student Advisers

Student Advisory council members will be chosen by a Georgia Department of Education committee.

Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to apply for State School Superintendent John Barge's 2013-2014Β Student Advisory Council.

Council members, chosen by a committee of Georgia Department of Education representatives, meet three times during the school year with Barge to talk about "how decisions made at the state level affect students throughout Georgia," the superintendent's office said in a release.

The meeting dates are as follows: Sept. 27, 2013, Feb. 14, 2014 and May 2, 2014. Dates are subject to change.
