Marietta Under Flash Flood Warning

The warning is in effect until 7:15 p.m.

Cobb County is under a flash flood warning until 7:15 p.m.

Austell, Kennesaw, Marietta, Powder Springs and Smyrna are included in the warning, according to an afternoon bulletin from the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

"Three to four inches of rain have fallen across the warned area, especially along the Chattahoochee River from near Morgan Falls down into South Central Fulton County," according to the bulletin.

The National Weather Service urges people to take the following precautions:

  • Do not attempt to cross water-covered bridges, dips or low-water crossings.
  • Never ty to to cross flowing stream—even a small one—on foot.
  • To escape rising water, move up to higher ground.
