Mother in Marietta Carjacking Faces 9 New Charges

She allegedly dragged the truck's owner about 2,000 feet "before the victim fell off the vehicle," according to a Cobb arrest warrant.

The Roswell mother who allegedly stole a Ford F-150 from a Marietta gas station with her two children in tow faces nine new charges in Cobb.

Nicole Tierra Evans, who was ultimately arrested in Carroll County, remains in custody there on more than 20 charges.

But according to a Cobb arrest warrant, she faces nine additional charges here, including two counts of third degree cruelty to children, two counts of driving with no seatbelt (under 5 years old), and one count each of attempted theft by taking, theft by taking, aggravated assault, driving on an expired license and reckless driving.

On June 25, Evans allegedly tried to steal a taxi from the Marietta Transfer Center at 800 South Marietta Pkwy., according to the warrant. But "the taxi driver reached into the window and put the car in park and wrestled with said accused for the keys."

Evans exited the vehicle, took her children and left. From there, Evans made her way to the Chevron at 811 South Marietta Pkwy., and spotted the Ford F-150 running outside of the gas station.

"Accused attempted to run the victim over with the vehicle," according to the warrant. "The victim then attempted to stop the suspect from driving away and was hanging on the side of the vehicle while the accused traveled approximately 2,000 feet before the victim fell off the vehicle."

Authorities located the truck, which was equipped with GPS, in Carroll County, where Evans hit at least one Carroll County deputy's car before crashing.
