Catch the Consignment Sale Fever

Stretch your spring and summer clothing budget with local consignment sales this month! Shop for gently used items for babies and kids to save money on items they quickly outgrow.

With March comes spring and...lots of consignment sales! Mark your calendars, go through your children's closets, and get ready to shop for spring and summer bargains on all things for babies and kids. Get some great tips for shopping at consignment sales from a mom blogger at kidzsignments.com

The Rules: At each sale, if you donate $5 cash for missions you’ll be given early admittance at 8:30 a.m. on the first morning of the sale (no donations needed for children). No strollers are allowed before 11 a.m. at any of the sales on the first day. Many items are marked down 30% on Saturday at each sale. They accept cash, debit ($1 fee), Mastercard and Visa ($2 fee).

2. Mt. Bethel Children’s Consignment Sale400 sellers consign spring and summer children’s clothing, toys, books, furniture, and more.

Where: Mt. Bethel UMC, 4385 Lower Roswell Rd., Marietta

When: March 9: 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

           March 10: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What’s Cool: They also have a boutique section for upscale brands, custom-made, and smocked clothing. You can also purchase “bribes” for your kids or treats to refuel at their bake sale! On Saturday, everything is 30% off. All proceeds go to support local and global missions to benefit families and children of all ages.

The Rules: No children allowed on the sales floor until 12 p.m. on Friday (except babies in slings or front/back packs). They are providing a loving nursery from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. for $4 per hour, per child, with an $8 per hour family maximum. Nursery is available for this event, but registration is required. 3. Northwest Atlanta Moms of Multiples Tots to Tweens Consignment Sale

When: March 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 2825 Sandy Plains Rd., Marietta

5. The Lil’ Lambs Consignment Sale: quality, gently-used children’s clothing and toys, as well as maternity clothes, children’s books and videos and nursery items

When: March 9 - 9am to 7pm

       March 10 - 9am to 1pm

Where: First United Methodist Church of Marietta, 56 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta

The Rules: Many items 1/2 price on Saturday. Check or cash. NO credit cards. Children are welcome but NO STROLLERS. Childcare, for ages 8 and under, will be provided to shoppers if you prefer to shop alone! ($5 per hour per child, with a cap of $15 per hour, and a maximum of 3 hours) Childcare is only available while the parent is shopping. Reservations are required: 770-429-7850, ext. 7860.
