Are You Going to This Monday's Food Truck Rally?

Marietta had its inaugural Food Truck Rally on Monday, Oct. 15, at the parking lot of Walton Communities' 12-acre Meeting Park near Marietta Square.

If you want to try a variety of different foods while spending time outside with others from the community, swing by Meeting Park near the Square Monday evenings from 5-9 p.m.

"Last year the Atlanta Street Food Coalition contacted the city about setting up a weekly food truck event here in Marietta at the Meeting Park development, owned by Walton Communities," city of Marietta urban planner Shelby Little said. "We thought it was a great idea considering the success of these events in nearby communities," she said. "The popularity and success of these events provides aspiring chefs and restaurateurs with a relatively low-cost way of getting their product out to a lot of people – almost like a mobile, small business incubator made specifically for chefs."

Food trucks at the inaugural food truck event Oct. 15 included steak sandwiches, meatball sandwiches and sliders, paninis, Puerto Rican and ice cream.
