About 1,000 business professionals took part in a night of networking, entertainment, food and giveaways Wednesday.

The 2013 Summer J.A.M. (Joint Association Meeting), put on by the Coalition of Cobb County Business Associations and theCobb County Chamber of Commerce, brought together the Chamber and the county's 10 business associations under the roof of the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta.

By the night's end, organizers said the event, now in its third year, had about 950 people pre-register plus an unknown number of walk-in attendees; last year's event drew about 800.

The West Cobb Business Association is currently offering mid-year memberships. Until July 31, new members can join for $40—half the organization's usual $80 annual fee—and enjoy membership through Dec. 31.
