Man Killed in Whitlock Avenue Wreck
A Jeep traveling at a high rate of speed east on Whitlock Avenue left the roadway, overturned and hit a tree, killing the driver instantly.
Marietta Police are investigating a single vehicle fatality accident on Whitlock Avenue at Winn Street that occurred at 1:42 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8.
Initial on scene investigation reveals that a 2001 Jeep Cherokee was traveling east on Whitlock Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control causing his vehicle to leave the roadway, overturn and strike a tree, killing the driver instantly.
The driver's name is being withheld pending family notification.

There were no other injuries or vehicles involved.
