Marietta Pizza Opens in West Cobb

For more than 10 years, the pizzeria has anchored the southwest corner of Marietta Square; now it has its long-delayed location in West Cobb.

Marietta Pizza Co. last week opened its new location at 3901 Mary Eliza Trace, off Due West Road near , the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

The 5,000-square-foot space includes a new kitchen, game room, bar and restrooms, Wi-Fi, eight televisions and 24 beers on tap, the MDJ says.

In November 2008, owners Howard Wolfson and Kellie and David Contreras signed a contract to lease space at a new development in the Due West community.

Marietta Pizza from the Cobb County Business License Review Board in March, capping a two-year effort to get an alcohol license for the western location.

The permit grants Marietta Pizza license to sell beer and wine at 3901 Mary Eliza Trace even though it sits within 600 feet of a school.

State guidelines do not allow a business with an alcohol permit to be within 300 feet of a school, but county guidelines extend the radius to 600 feet.
