Osmotica's $500,000+ Tax Break OK'd

The Cobb County incentive is part of a package worth nearly $2 million for the biotech company to bring about 150 jobs to Marietta.

Osmotica Pharmaceutical is getting a personal property tax break of more than a half-million dollars as part of its incentive package for opening a research-and-development facility and manufacturing plant in Marietta.

The Development Authority of Cobb County voted 5-0 Monday to approve the $564,539 tax break, the Marietta Daily Journal reported.

The authority’s executive director, Brooks Mathis, also pledged $100,000 to help the global company with relocation or training expenses, in addition to nearly $1.3 million in state tax credits and grants, the MDJ said.
