Ru San's Sushi and Hibachi Grill

Sometimes the most tedious part of dining out is figuring where to dine out. Patch makes it easy every Thursday; we find great restaurants for you. This week: Ru San's Sushi and Hibachi Grill

Overview: Liking sushi is an acquired taste. The very first time I tasted it all I could think about was the raw fish part and was pretty sure I wouldn’t try it again. I did, though I can’t remember why. Long story short, I am now a sushi die-hard.

My all time favorite restaurant to eat sushi at is Ru San’s. With locations at both Barrett Parkway and Windy Hill Road, Ru San’s simply does it best. Sure there are more “authentic” sushi restaurants and certainly more expensive ones, but when you are craving sushi and actually want fill up on it without spending a fortune, Ru San’s is the place to go.

For $9.75 you can eat sushi to your heart’s content during the week at their lunch buffet. For non-sushi lovers, there are hot dishes on the buffet as well, including teriyaki chicken, beef with vegetables, fried rice, salads and, of course, their famous miso soup. Dinner entrees range from $10 to $20. The staff at Ru Sans is always friendly, and the atmosphere is more like a neighborhood bar with a lot of loyal locals. Indeed, you can even leave your chopsticks in a special cubbyhole (at least at the Kennesaw location) to retrieve when you come back. If you are just testing the waters with sushi, Ru San’s is the restaurant to try.
