Talenti Gelato has acquired a in Marietta. The expansion represents the addition of up to 100 jobs in Marietta and the state of Georgia.
Talenti plans to maintain its existing plant in Dallas but relocate its primary production headquarters to the Marietta Industrial Park and begin production later this year.
“The country’s best-selling gelato will be right at home in one of America’s greatest communities, so hello Marietta,” said Bob Burns, vice president of operations for Talenti, who will be moving to the area to manage the new facility.
Talenti is carried in most national supermarkets and food retailers, including Kroger, Publix, Whole Foods Market, The Fresh Market, Target and Ingles. Talenti produces all-natural, artisanal gelatos and sorbettos.
“Food processing is the largest sector of Georgia’s manufacturing industry, and Talenti Gelato is a leader in its field,” said Chris Cummiskey, commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. “We are pleased the company has chosen to maximize its future success in Georgia’s dynamic business environment.”
Kroger's Southern Ice Cream Specialties plant closed earlier this year and employed over 140 people.
The plant is at 1058 King Industrial Dr., south of Canton Road between Interstate 75 and Cobb Parkway.
