The Original House Of Lu

Sometimes the most tedious part of dining out is figuring where to dine out. Patch makes it easy every Thursday; we find great restaurants for you. This week: The Original House of Lu.

Overview: Located behind the on the Marietta Square, ’s family recipes have created a loyal following since 1995. Made with fresh coconut milk and lime, the coconut shrimp is the signature dish and for good reason. It is rich, creamy, made with lightly battered fresh jumbo shrimp and served on steamed broccoli. If you order it for lunch, it’s only $8.00 (half the price of the dinner menu) and comes with fried or steamed rice and a vegetable spring roll.

Menu Suggestions: Appetizer suggestions are the crab rangoon–made with real crabmeat and the salt and pepper calamari–hot and spicy.

Most Chinese restaurants are not known for their desserts, but House of Lu makes Chinese donuts that are delectable. They also serve ice cream in six flavors: green tea, mango coconut, ginger, lychee and red bean.
