Teri Gass Named Chief Support Officer for Sterling Risk Advisors

Teri Gass has been appointed Chief Support Officer of Sterling Risk Advisors (www.sterlingriskadvisors.com), a full-service Atlanta-based risk management and insurance brokerage firm. She will be responsible for monitoring key support functions of the client services team, including workflow design and process improvement efficiencies. 

“Teri Gass is a dynamic risk management and insurance leader,” said Doug Rieder, president of Sterling Risk Advisors.  "Her record of providing innovative solutions to complex risk challenges is very consistent to the high touch, consultative approach we bring to our clients."

Gass will be charged with establishing metrics for monitoring administrative improvements in accordance with best practices.  She will also assist shareholders in meeting with insurers on a regular basis to strengthen relationships.

During her career she has worked in marketing and as a manager of customer service for insurance accounts throughout the southeastern United States, including 40 nationally ranked accounts.  A certified teacher of motivational and coaching courses for supervisors and front-line workers, she has developed improvement plans and audited both technical proficiency and interpersonal skills for employees.

She comes to Sterling from Hummingbird Risk Advisors, where she was Chief Operating Officer. Prior to that, Gass spent 12 years as a director at Aon Global Risk Consulting, worked as a manager for Zurich Insurance Company and as a senior consultant for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

Gass has a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, with minors in political science and sociology, from California University of Pennsylvania, where she delivered the commencement address in 2011. Her professional credentials include being a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, and licenses as a resident agent in property and casualty and resident counselor in property and casualty.

In professional circles, she is a member of the National Association of Professional Women, the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Atlanta Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Society.

Gass enjoys giving back to the community and is a mentor for high school students, meeting one on one with students throughout their sophomore, junior and senior years.  She is also a Service Project Coordinator for third grade students and coordinates activities to support Atlanta’s Ronald McDonald House.  Annually she participates in the Muscular Sclerosis walk to create a world free of MS.

She resides in the East Cobb/Marietta neighborhood with her husband Jim and daughter Dina.  Dina is a Finance major in her senior year at LSU, and Jim works in IT support.
