After a six month deployment to Kabul, Afghanistan, Maj. Quincy Hudson, 94th Airlift Wing protocol officer, returned home July 11.

Hudson was welcomed at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport by his wife, Naomi, a host of family members, and members of the USO of Georgia.

"It's been a long six months," his wife said. "We are so glad he made it home safe."

Hudson spent the past six month's serving as the personnel officer at Camp Phoenix, a NATO military installation hear the Kabul International Airport.

"This deployment was a very fulfilling one," said Hudson. "Although there was a lot of work to do, and it was a fast-paced environment, I managed to get some hands-on weapons training and qualifications from instructors within the Army unit I was attached to."

Although work at home station never ceases, and there is a lot of catching up to do, Hudson has one thing in mind, spending time with his family.

"We have a welcome home celebration planned for him, then there's plenty of travel to be done," his wife said. "Our two children are involved in sports and other activities, and its tournament time!"
