Another First Friday Art Walk in Marietta

The second installment of the popular art gathering around Marietta Square tops The 5 Things for today.

1. The second First Friday Art Walk of 2011 takes place tonight in historic Marietta Square, offering a showcase of local artists hosted by Marietta Square area restaurants, galleries, museums, venues and boutiques. The event, as always, runs from 5 to 9 p.m., rain or shine, and participating venues display an official Art Walk banner in their windows.

Be sure to check out emerging artists at Artists’ Alley at and features an interesting slate of abstract artists this month, including Joyce Howell, Charles Emery Ross, Robert Hunt and Bonnie Fuchs. Check out their work at www.dkgallery.us.

2. Today is the application deadline for county homestead exemptions for this tax year. Applications, detailed information, tax bills and year round online bill pay are available at www.cobbtax.org or by calling 770-528-8600.

4. The 33rd Annual Spring Atlanta Home Show starts at 10 a.m. today at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
