Cobb Teen Found in Unsanitary Conditions

His mother faces charges in connection with the incident.

A Cobb woman has been arrested after authorities Thursday found her 13-year-old son sleeping in a home with insects crawling on him, police said.

Neika Wilson, Cobb police said, allowed "her home to be in a condition that posed a health hazard" to the boy.

Not only was the home in the 1700 block of Cunningham Road infested with insects, it had no electricity and no working toilet, according to Wilson's arrest warrant.

"Inside the toilet was a mound of feces which piles over the toilet rim," police said. "There were two cats and a dog in the home. The dog had thinning hair due to his flea infestation which also infested the inside of the home."

Wilson was arrested Thursday on two counts of contributing to the deprivation of a minor, both misdemeanor offenses. She was released the same day on $2,000 bond.
