Juneteenth Celebration Center of Marietta Square Activity

Square events including Juneteenth, Farmers Market, Scout Day at History Museum and Brew with a View top today's 5 Things.

1. The Cobb NAACP today continues the second and final day of its extensive Juneteenth celebration, which is part of the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. For today, the celebration includes a free festival of music, food and more from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Glover Park. For information, visit www.cobbnaacp.org, call 770-425-5757 or send an email to naacpofcobb@aol.com. Look for Marietta Patch coverage throughout the weekend!

2. Because of the Juneteenth celebration, the Marietta Square Farmers Market will slightly alter its time and place for today. The market will shift to Mill Street from 9 a.m. to noon. So don't worry. You will still have access to more than 60 vendors of homegrown fruits and vegetables and arts and crafts. You'll just also have an amazing Juneteenth celebration to go with it.

3. If you're a Scout, here's another great reason to be at Marietta Square. The Marietta Museum of History for Scout Day is offering free admission to all scout members and leaders if they arrive in uniform from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

4. Finally, the has extends its Brew with a View to a Saturday when Collier Daily plays the rooftop terrace bar. Daily brings his country and pop back to the Strand in support of his third CD Farther Down the Line. Brew with a View is free (although the "brew" part costs money and only for those 21 and up) and runs from 6 to 10 p.m.

5. Today is World Juggling Day. With so many things going on in Marietta today, you will be juggling things figuratively. But why not go ahead and bring the balls and clubs and flaming sticks to the part and juggle literally?
