Last Day for 'Little Foxes' at Theatre in the Square

Local production of Lillian Hellman classic wrapping up its extended run at Marietta theater tops The 5 Things for today.

1. finishes its extended run of The Little Foxes with a 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinee performance. The Lillian Hellman classic, directed by Fred Chappell, tells the story of two scheming brothers and their sister to get control of her husband's wealth.

2. The City of Marietta has begun a "Get to Know Marietta's Boards and Commissions" series on its Web site. The first one, posted last week, spotlights the Board of Lights and Water, which regulates utility services in Marietta.

3. For those who own taxable property in Cobb County, keep a look out for your annual tax assessment notice from the . This noice includes an estimate of taxes based on the prior year millage rate and the current value but will not include exemptions if you live in Marietta.

The tax assessors office began preparing these notices this week and will have all of them mailed by July 1.

4. Ready for the gun show? The Eastman Gun & Knife Show returns to the Cobb Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. Tickets are $8 for adults. Go to www.eastmangunshows.com for information.

5. Today is Ford Mustang Day in honor of the single greatest car ever to hit the road. They were introduced to the American public on this day in 1964.
