Marietta High Seniors Graduate

Marietta High holds its graduation ceremonies this morning at Northcutt Stadium, and this tops The 5 Things today.

2. The newly rechristenened Georgia Symphony Orchestra makes a visit to Glover Park for the city's end-of-the-month concert series as Sam Skelton and his Band play at 8 p.m.Β  Reserve tables online or by calling 770-794-5601.Β  Blankets & lawn chairs may be set up after 4:00 pm.

3. The Earl Smith Strand Theatre brings a little bit of horror to Marietta Square tonight with a showing of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining starring Jack Nicholson. (This replaces a planned showing of the even more haunting A Clockwork Orange.)

5. Today is Sierra Club Day. Sierra Club formed on this day in 1892 with 182 charter members, who elected John Muir as the club's first president. In its first conservation campaign, the club led efforts to defeat a proposed reduction in the boundaries of Yosemite National Park.
