Marietta Man Convicted of Child Molestation

He will be sentenced at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 22.

A 34-year-old Marietta man has been convicted of molesting his ex-girlfriend's teenage relative.

A Cobb County jury Thursday night convicted Adriel Noel Mann of one count of aggravated child molestation and acquitted him of another count involving the same victim.

"The victim, now 16, gave emotional testimony concerning the defendant’s perpetration of this heinous act," Assistant District Attorney Susan Treadaway said in a statement. "At sentencing, the State will present evidence of the defendant’s five prior felony convictions from the Commonwealth of Virginia, and based upon those convictions, Georgia law requires the Court to impose a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole."
