Marietta Social Worker Takes Top State Honors
Kristin Hanfland, school social worker with Marietta City Schools, was named the 2011 Georgia School Social Worker of the Year and that tops The 5 Things for today.
1. Kristin Hanfland, school social worker with , was recently named the 2011 Georgia School Social Worker of the Year by the School Social Workers Association of Georgia. Hanfland was selected from among 200 school social workers across Georgia for the highest honor awarded to Georgia's school social workers.
Hanfland provides support to Hickory Hills Elementary, Marietta Center for Advanced Academics, Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, Marietta Middle School and to the school district at large.
Hanfland won based on her professionalism, school social work experience, civic contributions and other criteria.

2. The Cobb Citizen Oversight Committee will hold a public input meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the .
