A few music events, a doubles tournament and the Cobb County furlough day top The 5 Things for today.

1. The Glover Park Concert Series continues its 2011 season at 8 p.m. today with the Neons, one of Atlanta's premier dance party bands. This series continues through the September with concerts scheduled for the last Friday night of each month.

2. For a great Glover Park after-party, simply walk on over to the for its Friday night Brew with a View. Local attorney Bert Reeves returns with his band, offering covers of Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows and John Mayer. The event has no cover charge. 3. Laurel Park this weekend once again plays host to the USTA May-Retta Daze Family Doubles Tournament. Pretty much any combination of doubles team - from husband-and-wife to sibling-and-sibling to parent-and-child - is represented. 4. Don't forget that today marks one of the official Cobb County to offset budget shortfalls. That means that only essential services, such as police and fire, are available today, and most government offices are closed.

5. Today is National Wig Out Day. Does it mean you can go crazy? Well, sort of. It actually means put on that bizarre wig or dye your hair or whatever. County employees can go nuts today since they are off work.
