Norcross Cheese Maker Recalls Mozzarella

Recall of AtlantaFresh Artisan Creamery's mozzarella sold at Marietta Square Farmers Market and other venues tops The 5 Things today.

1. Norcross-based AtlantaFresh Artisan Creamery has issued a recall on mozzarella sold last week at five farmer’s markets, including the Marietta Square Farmers Market. The cheese packages read “best by date 7/16.”

In addition to Marietta, the creamery said the cheese was sold at farmers markets in Alpharetta and Sandy Springs and at the Peachtree Road and Piedmont Park farmers markets.

In its recall, creamery officials wrote: “With 1 degree of pasteurization off, we feel fairly certain it is all good, but to be safe, please bring your cheese back to any farmers market this week for a refund or trade for a new cheese and a yogurt on the house for your trouble.”
