SyFy Invites Marietta for Ghost Hunting at Kennesaw House

A chance to investigate the haunted Kennesaw House with SyFy's Ghost Hunters International tops The 5 Things for today.

1. Brandy Green and Ashley Godwin of SyFy's Ghost Hunters International program, along with guest investigators Bob Hunnicutt and Joey Ward, take a special tour of the Kennesaw House. And Marietta can tag along for the ride.

For the $75 ticket price, you get to join a meet and greet and question-and-answer session with the cast and then a full investigation of this haunted building. The doors will open at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and the event will run until about 2 a.m. Sunday.

2. Both the Marietta High boys and girls varsity basketball teams play today in the 5AAAAA tournament at Etowah High School.  At this posting, the semifinal scores had yet to come in, but they will be playing in either the championship or consolation final rounds today. And remember both squads have already qualified for the state tourney. Go Blue Devils!

4. The 39 Steps production has been so popular at Theatre in the Square, they've added more shows! The fast-paced and cleverly staged spy yarn will now play through Feb. 27. For information, visit www.theatreinthesquare.com or call 770-422-8369.

5. This date in 1945 marks the day in which the first U.S. Marines landed on Iwo Jima, a battle which would serve as a turning point for World War II battles in the Pacific. Although the famous flag would be raised on the island four days later, today is remembered as Iwo Jima Day.
