Walter Reeves Lunches with Cobb Landmarks

A noon-time gathering with Georgia's favorite master gardener tops The 5 Things for today.

1. Cobb Landmarks & Historical Society continues to hold its Plant Sale from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today at the . But at noon, it is also hosting a Lunch and Learn with Walter Reeves at St. James Episcopal Church. Reeves, known as The Georgia Gardener, will provide his tips for the season. This event has limited seating and a table for eight costs $400. Send an email to allisongruehn@comcast.net for information and reservations.

2. While you are at the plant sale or finding great vegetables and such at the Marietta Square Farmers Market, take some time to take the annual walk to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The walk will originate from Glover Park and go from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

3. Keep Cobb Beautiful and Keep Marietta Beautiful have filled their Saturday. Keep Cobb Beautiful will cut the ribbon on its first community recycle drop spot at 10 a.m. at 2905 Library Lane. Working together, the two groups will sponsor a document shredding day from 9 a.m. to noon at no cost to residents and completely secure.

4. Marietta City Schools Superintendent Dr. Emily Lembeck will host another Superintendent Saturday at 9:30 a.m. today at . This community dialogue allows Lembeck to present the successes and challenges of the school district directly to the public as well as hear public comments.
