Almost, Maine

So What is Almost, Maine?

It's Love...but not quite

It's winter in Almost, Maine. Salty waitresses, lost tourists, tough and not-so–tough women and men crack open some beer, start their snowmobiles, pitch a tent, and gather under the northern lights to try to make sense of this strange thing called love. Funny, sexy, sad, and ever-searching, the people of Almost, Maine are stalked by dreams and fears alike as they ante up again and again determined to get past the 'almost' to capture the real. Love is local and the world is strange in this midwinter night's dream.

Directed by Julie Taliaferro, this charming play features 18 of the best actors in town, including returning Out of Box favorites Leigh-Ann Campbell, Davin Grindstaff, Jerry Jobe, Emily Tyrybon, LeeAnna Lambert, Candace Mabry and James Connor among others. Almost, Maine premiered in 2002 and has been produced by nearly 2000 theatre companies since, making itone fo the most frequently produced plays in the past decade. Out of Box Theatre Company calls it our "Postcard to Love: the good, the bad and the surprising kind."

Almost, Maine runs Novemeber 8-23, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM, Sundays at 3 PM.  Tickets are $17-22 in advance, $20-25 at the door.
