Shadow Circus brings to light the inner stories and dialogues we have with ourselves. Stingle, of Atlanta, and Glessner, of Philadelphia, use art as a means to depict struggle and transition. Stingle, a nationally recognized ceramist, combines distinctive, hand-built porcelain figures with discarded relics to create a narrative that engages the viewer in this age of individual isolation. Glessner's fiber and encaustic paintings are richly layered, requiring the viewer to go deep within to understand what our shadow side is trying to tell us.
