Nunsense is Habit Forming

The wacky Broadway musical Nunsense returns to the stage at City Center in Woodstock.

Really...It is....
When Elm Street brought Nunsense to the stage last year, it was so funny and so popular, audiences requested a repeat performance.    Fortunately, the Little Sisters of Hoboken are coming back as promised and with a few new tricks up their sleeves.
"There were patrons who had lived in New York City for years that told us they were convinced they'd been transported back to the Big Apple when they came to the show," said Artistic Director G. Lora Grooms, "And many others were disappointed the show was closing before they could bring their friends back with them to see it.   We like to keep our patrons happy, so we have asked the Sisters to return and they were gracious enough to comply."
The Sisters say there was a small disaster back at the convent of Mt. St. Helens School and they need to raise some funds very quickly to solve a rather sticky problem to keep the Health Inspector out of their kitchen.   The Sisters ask that patrons bring some small change for the offering baskets, just in case.
Oddly enough, the Little Sisters remind many Cherokee residents of their good friends and neighbors Taryn Chidebelu-Eze, Erin Wilson, Siobhan Brumbelow, Hannah Schug and even Grooms herself.   Their accompanist, Sister Mary Joel, bears a strong resemblance to Elm Street Musical Director Amy Noel Welch.
There will be five performances of "Nunsense" held at City Center Auditorium, 8534 Main Street in Woodstock, August 10, 17, 18 at 7:30pm and August 12 & 19 at 2pm.   Tickets are $9-11 in advance online or $11-14 at the door.  Recommended for ages 13 and up.  Bring a can of chili, chunky soup or stew to donate to Papa's Pantry and receive a free beverage at intermission.  www.elmstreetarts.org  678-494-4251
