             Do you love to garden but are disappointed with your results?  Maybe you’re a beginner and lack basic knowledge, or an experienced gardener looking for more challenging projects.  Do you want to learn more from the experts about specific plants and techniques that work in Marietta? Then this workshop series is for you. The Marietta Council of Garden Clubs, Inc., is proud to introduce our 2011 series of Horticulture Workshops.  These workshops are for the avid gardener new to gardening or experienced. The Saturday begins at 8:30am for registration, 9:00-11:00 for the formal presentation, a break for lunch (which is included) and then a private tour of a local garden or nursery.  Some of the locations will have plants for sale.   These workshops are a great way to improve your gardening skills and meet others interested in gardening.           

November 12, 2011 and the speaker is Scott McMahon, rare plant nursery owner and an international plant-hunter, speaking on New Plant Cultivars and then we will tour Garden*Hood Nursery.The rest of the series are as follows: January 21, 2012: Trees and Shrubs, February 18, 2012: Floral and Culinary Herbs, March 24, 2012: Native Plants, April 28, 2012: Annuals and Container Gardening, May 19, 2012: Shade and Sun Perennials. The price is $30 per session and you can take as many as you like.  If you complete at least six or the seven sessions offered you will receive a certificate at the completion of the series. Registration is required and payment is expected prior to the course, so register today as space is limited to 30 participants.
